The Board of Directors for NSL consists of six members. It meets on a quarterly basis and is responsible for setting the Company’s strategic goals and evaluating overall business performance. The Board of Directors is comprised of the following individuals:

Alhaji Garba Imam


Mallam Garba Imam holds a (Hons) Degree in Sociology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and a Masters of Social Science from Birmingham University, United Kingdom. He also obtained a PGD in Agricultural Development from Imperial College, University of London.

His work experience span over 30 years, beginning with the Kano State Civil Service where he served as Executive & Administration officer in the Governor’s office. He also served in several other capacities, which include Assistant Secretary (Project Planning).

He started his Banking career in 1985 with Chase Merchant Bank Nigeria Ltd (Continental Merchant Bank Plc) as Credit/Financial Analyst and later became Assistant General Manager and Divisional Head, Corporate Banking. He joined African International Banking Limited in 1996 and became Deputy General Manager in charge of operations, Corporation Banking, Risk Manager, Branch Supervision, Corporate Finance and Lagos Regional Business Development

In 2002, he joined the Board of NAL Bank Plc (now Sterling Bank Plc) as a Non-Executive Director. In 2003, he became an Executive Director, where he served in various capacities including Corporate Banking, Retail and Consumer Banking; South-West; and South Regions, Treasury & Public Sector, and Management Services. Mallam Imam retired from the services of the Bank in August, 2011 having attained the retirement age.

In November 2011, Mallam Imam was appointed as a Non-Executive Director at Enterprise Bank by AMCON where he served on the Board’s Credit and Risk Management Committees. Currently, Mallam is the Chairman of Nigerian Stockbrokers Limited. He also sits on the Boards of Ecobank Nigeria Ltd as Non-Executive Director, Kaduna Electricity Company Limited, VDT Telecommunications Company Limited and H.Pierson Associates.

Mallam Imam is a Fellow, Chartered Institute of Management, UK. Fellow, Institute of Credit Administrators, Honorary Senior Member, Chartered Institute of Bankers, Member, Institute of Directors and Member of Bank Directors Association of Nigeria.

Mr. Olatunbosun Adekoya

Managing Director

Mr. Bosun Adekoya is the Managing Director of Nigerian Stockbrokers Limited (NSL) and also a Director on the Board of NSL Capital Partners Limited, the Issuing House subsidiary of NSL.

He attended The University of Lagos, Akoka and obtained a Bachelors Degree in Finance (Banking) in 1980. He also holds a Masters Degree in Banking and Finance in 1998 from the same University. He became an Authorized Dealing Clerk of The Nigerian Stock Exchange in 1985 as well as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (FCS) in 1996.

Mr. Bosun Adekoya has a combined experience spanning over 33 years as an Investment and Corporate Banker in the Nigerian Capital Market.
He started his Banking career as an Executive Assistant when he joined NAL Merchant Bank Limited (later NAL Bank Plc), in 1981 and was deployed to Nigerian Stockbrokers Limited. During his stay in NAL Bank, Bosun was involved in various activities and responsibilities in Investment and Corporate Banking. As part of his Investment Banking activities, he handled various Capital Market Issues which ranged from Public Offers, Rights Issues, Debentures, Mergers and Acquisitions, Management Buy Out transaction as well as Transfer of shares between Local and International companies.

He also, between 1994 and 1998, worked in Corporate Banking as the Head, Conglomerates Foods and Agriculture Group and carried out various forms of lending activities in NAL Bank.
During the Merger of NAL Bank and four (4) other Banks, in 2005, which became Sterling Bank Plc, he was appointed the first Managing Director/Chief Executive of Nigerian Stockbrokers Limited by the Board of NSL, the position he holds till now.

He has contributed immensely to the Stock Market. He was at various times Joint Chairman Disciplinary Committee of The Nigerian Stock Exchange from 2001 to 2005. Member, Lagos/Ibadan Branch Council which covers Abeokuta and Ilorin Branches of the Exchange. He had also represented NSL at the National Council of The Exchange between 1986 and 1987. He also serves as a Chairman of an Investigating Panel at the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers.

Ugoji L. Ugoji, BSc, MBA, ACIP

Group Executive Director

Lenin holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Estate Management from the University of Lagos and an MBA in Banking & Finance from the ESUT School of Business. He is a Chartered Pension

professional and an Associate of the Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria (ACIP). Lenin is a registered Capital Market operator with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

He has over 17 years of Banking/Investment experience and served as the pioneer Head Treasury/Chief Investment Officer of the Aquila Capital Group. He was instrumental in the raising of finance (equivalent of over $50 Million) from Local Wholesale Sources, Investment Products, Private Equity and Global Developmental Finance Institutions during his 10 year period at the Aquila Capital franchise.

While at Aquila, Lenin spearheaded several landmark deals including Equity, Debt and Mezzanine finance for the Group. Lenin also spearheaded the Management Buy-Out (MBO) of Aquila’s Asset Management business from the Aquila Capital Group and served as the pioneer Managing Director of Aquila Asset Management from 2011 to 2015.

Chief (Mrs) Opral Mason Benson, OFR


She is an educationist and a businesswoman, attended Morris Brown College, Atlanta, Georgia, USA; University of Pennsylvania, US and Pittsburgh University, USA.

She was at different times Teacher/ Principal of Schools in Liberia; Chief Administrative Officer, Ministry of Agriculture, Commerce and Labour, Liberia; Assistant Secretary-General OAU Conference; Assistant Principal Registrar, University of Lagos; Chairman, Chic Afrique Organisation Limited since 1978. Member, Zontaa International Club; Member, National Association of University Women; President (Junior Organisation) and National Council of Women Societies. She is the pioneer Chairman, Johnson Products of Nigeria Limited.

Alhaji Tajudeen Dantata


He is a graduate of West London University (1998) and Manaret College. He has over the years built a formidable experience both as the head of a conglomerate, as well as the Director of not less than 20 various flourishing companies.

As Group Managing Director of Dantata Organizations Limited, he has gathered a wealth experience for over a decade in various sectors of the economy, which includes oil exploration, manufacturing, banking and finance, import and export, farming as well as merchandising and commodity trading.

As government appointee, he held various positions which include Chairman, Kano State Tourism Board and Chairman, Kano State Housing Corporation. He has attended various courses both in Nigeria and overseas, one amongst many is the Petroleum Technology and Operations Overview (1992), in Houston, Texas, USA.

Ms Alexis Ufuoma Ikhinmwin


She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Economics at the University of Essex, Colchester, England (1990) and MBA in International Banking & Finance from University of Birmingham, UK in 1992. She also has a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Accounting.

With over 20 years of working experience, she has established herself as an expert in Resource Management, Operations oversight, Office and Executive Administration and Problem Resolution.


William Akin Agbede

Director (NSL Capital Partners limited)

William Akin Agbede is an Engineer with a Bachelor of Science degree (Honours) in Electrical Engineering. He graduated from Ahmadu Bello University in 1970. In addition to his academic qualification, Engr. Agbede is a Chartered Engineer, a member of the council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN), a member of Nigerian Society of Engineers and he is presently the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of The Great WASAC Nigeria Limited.

His work spanned over thirty five years. He worked as a technologist with P&T department from 1963 to 1967. He went on to further his education at Ahmadu Bello University between 1967 and 1970. From 1970 to 1974, he worked at the Kainji Hydro Electric power station, the first of its type in Nigeria. From 1974 to 1978, he continued his career and rose through the ranks to the grade of General Manager Transmission for the North-Eastern States of the country (Bauchi, Gombe, Yobe, Taraba, Adamawa and Borno states). He had the responsibility to transmit efficient power at 330/132 KV to those states.

He attended many courses on design, manufacturing, maintenance, assembling and commissioning of power production equipment both locally and internationally. Amongst such courses was the one held by Japan International Corporation Agency. Also, he attended a course in South Korea on power producing equipment. These course exposed him to big power producing equipment companies like Hitachi Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation and many others.
